What Does the Course Tag Mean?
2016/02/26

As Gudrun Reimerth says in this article, the Personal Learning course tag #NRC01PL is a bit unusual. It's an artifact of the course number created for EdX but a bit more besides:

NRC - stands for National Research Council, which is where I work
01 - stands for the fact that this is the first course of this type - more on that as we proceed
PL - stands for Personal Learning
But that's not all. This course is part of the Learning and Performance Support Systems program, which means it's part of a much larger effort to develop perosnal learning environments and related technology. The '01' means it's the first LPSS course. Follow this link (or, as always, click on the title) for more.
